That I was very lucky, privledged and proud to have been a traveler on the #8 Routemaster Bus. It was actually retired a few years ago, but today being the day that the Routemaster Bus line was officially shut down I thought it was important to remember and exclaim with pride that not every American in the world has been able to take a wild and thrilling, sometimes crowded and hot, sometimes crowded and cold, sometimes running up and hopping on the back as it was making its way from a stop trying to catch it as we were late. It was fun, it was wonderful, and it will be an experience I will remember forever.
This Christmas, my daughter and I are flying to the UK to be with my Husband for the holidays. And though she won't be able to ride the Routemaster, I will be able to share my experiences as we are travelling in the new and improved buses that now circle the city.
Good bye #8 Routemaster out of Bethnal Green, I shall miss you but always remember the good times my husband and I had together!
ciao ciao
